In the early days of the F-150, Ford bet big on EcoBoost, proving that a smaller, smarter engine could outperform a massive V8. Now, Zohari Cars is seeing the exact same strategy applied to the electric era. Ford’s new Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) platform is a radical bet that efficiency, not battery size, is the true path to affordable electric mobility.
Ford has created an internal "Bounty" system where every millimeter of design is scrutinized. For example, adding just 1mm to a roof height carries a "bounty" of $1.30 in battery cost or 0.05 miles of lost range. By making the cost of every tradeoff clear, Ford is "hunting" for cost opportunities to ensure their upcoming mid-size electric truck is accessible to everyone.
The technical "secret sauce" of the UEV platform lies in its move from over 30 scattered control units to just 5 main modules. By shifting to a 48-volt system and a zonal architecture, Ford has slashed the complexity of the wiring harness. This results in a vehicle that is lighter, more reliable, and significantly cheaper to produce, allowing Ford to compete on price with traditional gas-powered vehicles.
Stay tuned to Zohari Cars as we track the rollout of the first UEV-based vehicles in 2026.
